I hit the road up in Kingston for the first 18 mile run of my life. Despite years of running, I've never laced them up for more than 17 miles in a shot and I don't care who you are, it's boring to hit the road for 18 miles by yourself.
Especially in the rain..
However, there can be said for why you do it. There is something really relaxing about the long run, that doesn't happen in 5 or 6 miles. It may be the fact that you've just had to pony up 2+ hours of your time and it won't be over quickly, but it really lets you think.
Rain or not, it was awesome being done.
