I should have known this was going to be the year

I should have know last New Year's Eve that 2004, in spite of the 365 bars in by365 days declaration, was going to be the year of the marathon, when we decided to do the 4 mile fun in Central Park that starts @12:01. I have always wanted to do it and a bunch of us got out there and had a blast. The double bonus was certainly the best fireworks display/viewing that I've seen in NYC. It was especially refreshing to drop by a few pre parties in sweats and outdoor gear while everyone is going around town all gussied up. In terms of in town New Year's Eves, this was a Top 5 for sure.

At the end of the run, we were all meeting up to go out and Matt & Shannon come back to the group laughing with these hats, '2004' glasses and noise makers that they didn't have when they started. Come to find out someone needed a NYE photograph for the New York Road Runners website.

Well, guess who is the poster child of the race again this year?
